Bio

Equally comfortable on the opera and concert hall stage, Rebecca Grady Rucker has performed extensively throughout the New York area and United States. In opera and musical theatre, her most recent role was that of Nella in Gianni Schicchi. Other roles of note include the title role in Suor Angelica (cover) and Gianetta in The Gondoliers.

As a featured soloist in many recitals and galas, Rebecca has had the opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall, Radio Music City Hall, Town Hall, the East coast tour for Ray Davies of The Kinks as well as on the Late Show with David Letterman.

In concert, Rebecca champions lesser known works and focuses on bringing new attention to female composers.

Rebecca received her BA in Music and Theatre at Albion College where she received various awards and solo performance opportunities. While her initial focus was in musical theatre her passion for classical music brought her to opera and art song. Rebecca continued her training with Jean McDonald at the University of Northern Iowa where she received her MM in Vocal Performance.

A cancer survivor and passionate supporter of various philanthropic causes, Rebecca volunteers as a performer and on various committees with The Blue Hill Troupe, a group of dedicated and talented artists that focus on bringing high-quality theater performances to New York City audiences while raising money for New York City charities.

Rebecca lives in Manhattan with her husband and parrot Romeo.
