Emma Nichols, soprano, studies vocal performance and French at Oregon State University, anticipating graduation in 2026. She has studied voice with numerous teachers since age eight, including her current teacher, Amy Hansen, and has been involved in over 18 different musical theatre productions in her lifetime. Highlights of her fledgling career include portraying Prince Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus, Brenda Strong in Catch Me If You Can, Shelby Thorpe in The Spitfire Grill, as well as swing roles as Sophie and Lisa in Mamma Mia!, Maria in West Side Story, and Belle in Beauty and the Beast.
Her recent awards include 3rd in the Portland Chamber Orchestra Young Artist Competition and 1st, 3rd, and 5th places in the Musical Theatre Northwest Region for Lower College Treble for the National Association of Teachers of Singing. Emma has also competed in the Classical Singers Competition in both the Musical Theatre and Classical categories.
In addition to her love of music and singing, Emma is fluent in the French language and has lived and taught English in Bordeaux, France after graduating high school. She returns often to visit friends and take in performances.
