Madison Becerra discovered her lifelong passion for performing at a very young age. By six years old, she was already immersed in musicals, singing in her church choir, showcasing her talent in vocal recitals, gracing community and political events, all while honing her skills through voice lessons. By the age of sixteen, she had already participated in over 25 musicals, including operas, and earned placements in more than 17 vocal competitions. Presently, Madison is a high-achieving junior at the Orange County School of the Arts, where she studies classical voice and opera. She currently trains under the expertise of Kathleen Martin, William Vendice and Vera Calabria.
Madison's recent triumphs in vocal performance speak volumes about her skill and commitment. She claimed the highest-scoring junior title at the 2023 NATS-LA Chapter competition for classical voice and secured a top 3 placement at the 2024 NATS Cal-Western Region, earning her a spot at nationals. Notably, Madison took 2nd place in the Pacific Symphony’s Opera Focus competition and received an honorable mention in The Music Center's 2024 Spotlight competition, for classical, where only one recipient per category is chosen from over 1,500 applicants in Southern California. Madison also placed 2nd for classical voice in the Vo-Cal competition. Additionally, Madison is a semi-finalist for The Orange County Register's 2024 Artist of the Year in vocal performance.
Madison starred in her first opera, OCSA's 2023 production of Die Fledermaus, where she was cast as the lead, Rosalinda. Madison was also selected as lead, Alice, in OCSA's 2024 spring Opera Production of Sunday Excursion and will be starring as lead, Cendrillon, in Fullerton College's summer production of Cendrillon - by Jules Massenet
Madison finds great fulfillment in giving back to her community. When she's not captivating audiences on stage, she generously shares her talent at local charity events and retirement communities. As a scholar-artist, and active member of OCSA’s National Honor Society and the California Scholarship Federation, she diligently participates in various community service events throughout the year.
Madison remains steadfast in her aspirations. With plans to pursue vocal performance at a 4-year university, she is determined to make a meaningful impact in the world of classical music.
