Amanda is a Lyric Spinto Soprano based in the Northern California area. She recently graduated with her Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance from California State University Sacramento. During her time in Sacramento, Amanda studied with Dr. Robin Fisher, Dr. Malcom Mackenzie, and Julie Miller. Under the direction of Ryan Murray, she learned and performed numerous scene and full opera roles during her undergraduate studies. These include The First Lady from Die Zauberflöte, Cendrillon from Viardot's Cendrillon, Lauretta from Gianni Schicci, Gilda (scenes), Fiordiligi (scenes), Carmen (scenes), Lady Valerie (Amy Beach's Cabildo scenes), Mimi (scenes), Rosalinde (scenes), Konstanze (scenes), Violetta (scenes), and Marcellina (Fidelio scenes). While Amanda studied at Shasta College she performed Ida in Die Fledermaus and Hata in The Bartered Bride.
Along with opera, Amanda is passionate about concert work. She is a current member and soloist for California Camerata, based in Carmichael California and has performed as a soloist in The Messiah and A New England Requiem (Scott Perkins). Amanda also has performed with The North State Symphony for their concert work as a soloist presenting her favorite arias under the direction of Scott Seaton. Amanda recently gave a west coast premiere and performed as the soprano soloist for San Fransisco based composer David Conte's Gloria with the Shasta Symphony in Redding California.
While she loves to learn and perform the traditional and classic pieces, Amanda also is comfortable presenting new concert and opera works. She premiered and performed as The Merchant in The Hero's Awakening (2023 Chamber Opera set inside a video game) with Four Corners Ensemble: Operation Opera under the direction of Ryan Murray and Dr. Shuying Li.
This summer, 2024, Amanda will be studying in Germany at the Berlin Opera Academy and learning the roles of The Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro as well as The Nursing Sister in Suor Angelica.
