Lucia Casanueva

Coloratura Soprano born in Ávila, Spain. She made her debut in 2016 with Aldonza, the main role of the opera Aldonza y Alonso by Lorenzo Palomo in its world premiere in the ESCM Theater (Bauer Palace, Madrid). In August 2019 she performs the roles of Zerlina in Don Giovanni by Mozart and Frasquita in Carmen by Bizet at the Mediterranean Opera Festival. In January 2019 she takes part of the Lyric Opera STudio of Weimar, where she performs the role of Ida in the opereta Die Fledermaus by J.Strauss II under the direction of Olaf Storbeck in Theater Mon Ami (Weimar) and Theater am Schloβengarten (Arnstadt). Recently (April and May 2018) she has performed the roles of Juliet and Sophie in the opera The little sweep by B.Britten with Orchestra and Chorus SMR under the direction of maestro A.Cubero in several spanish theaters (Teatro Circo -Albacete, Teatro Auditorio - Cuenca, Teatro Rojas -Toledo). In the field of religous music she has performed Messiah by Händel in Quinatanar de la Orden with Orchestra and Chorus SMR under the direction of maestro A.Cubero (2017), Miserere by C-M.Charpentier in Fundación Juan March in Madrid under the direction of M.Bernal (2015) and a selection of unpublished Arias for Soprano and Orchestra with Music Chapel of Salvador´s Cathedral under the direction of FJ.López in Ávila´s Cathedral (2015). Casanueva took part of the cast of soloist singers of the SMR Orchestra and Chorus - Improvement Academy, with its venue in Cuenca (Spain), directed by Cristóbal Soler form April 2017 to May 2018. She studies her BA Music (specialism in Singing) at Escuela Superior de Canto in Madrid under the guidance of the prestigious soprano Ana Rodrigo and piano accompanist Elias Romero. She obtained her BA Music (specialism in Flute) in the CSM Rafael Orozco (Córdoba, Spain) and she has also studied Master in Musictherapy in UCV (Valencia, Spain). Casanueva is alfo Magister Trainer and Supervisor in Musictherapy and Non Verbal Therapies (Fundación Benenzon, Buenos Aires)
