Bio

Shania Carden is a 24-year-old soprano based in California. Shania graduated from California State University, Fullerton in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Choral Music Education. In her undergraduate, she studied voice with Professor Linda Leyrer, served as section leader of Concert Choir under the direction of Dr. Christopher Peterson for two years, and held leadership roles in various organizations including Mu Phi Epsilon, Student Society for Musicology, her student chapter of ACDA, and the College of the Art’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee. She made her opera debut during the pandemic in CSUF’s full staged production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni as a chorus member. She sang the roles of Frasquita in Bizet’s Carmen and Clorinda in Rossini’s La Cenerentola in Fullerton College’s Opera Scenes in Summer of 2021 under the director of Professor Aram Barsamian. Since she graduated, she has been studying privately with Dr. Katharin Rundus. Shania is currently a private music teacher in Orange County.
