Paige Calvert, soprano, is a crossover artist who recently received her BM in Vocal Performance at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she studied with Yvonne Redman, Michael Tilley, and Sarah Wigley. Her credits with UIUC include A Little Night Music (Charlotte Malcolm), City of Angels (Angel City Alto), Leontovych’s Rusalka (2nd Rusalka) Carnaval! (Soloist), and Lyric Under the Stars (Soloist). She also had the privilege of playing Donna Gondola in the world premiere of João Ripper’s opera, Candinho. Originally from Central Illinois, some of Paige’s additional credits include The Magic Flute (Pamina, Northwestern University Vocal Performance Intensive), The Sound of Music (Mother Abbess), Something Rotten (Ensemble), and Amahl and the Night Visitors (Ensemble). Paige is also a passionate choral musician and was a member of the University of Illinois Chamber Singers, which traveled internationally to Sweden and Estonia during the summer of 2022. In Tallinn, Estonia, she participated in “Sing for Ukraine,” where a choir of more than four thousand singers raised est. €160.000 in relief donations. Paige is the winner of the 2022 Sigma Alpha Iota Mary Payne music competition, the 2022 Thomas J. Smith Scholarship Competition, and is a recipient of the UIUC Vocal Performance Achievement Award. In Fall 2023, Paige will be attending Oklahoma City University, where she’ll be pursuing a master's degree in vocal performance and studying with Catherine and Jan McDaniel.
