Mezzo-soprano Véronique van der Meijden is a versatile young artist with a great love for music and poetry.
She has been a member of Operagroep THE FAT LADY (artistic director Tamir Chasson) since 2017 and has performed in numerous projects, including Urlicht!, Die Zauberflöte (Dritte Dame), Bal Masqué, La Donna Ideale, Follow Your Passio, and Stabat Mater, as well as various recitals.
Véronique holds a master’s degree from the Royal Conservatoire (The Hague) where she was taught by Andrew Schroeder and Frans Fiselier.
She has participated in workshops and masterclasses with Larissa Diadkova, Sergei Leiferkus (Summer School Russian Opera - IVC, Den Bosch), Lidija Horvat-Dunjko (International Music School Mirula, Croatia), Summer Opera Tel Aviv, Francis van Broekhuizen, Marcel Reijans, Vitaly Rozhynko, and Angelika Kirchschlager.
She was a recipient of the Special Prize of the Chemnitz Opera in the 4th International Zinka Milanov Competition (Croatia, 2022).
Among her oratorio and concert experiences are Bach's St. John Passion, St. Matthew Passion, a number of Cantatas, Magnificat, Händel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Krönungsmesse, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Vivaldi Nisi Dominus, Brahms’ Alto Rhapsody, Moreno-Rathgeb’s Requiem voor Auschwitz and Ramirez’ Missa Criolla.
Véronique is currently coached by Tamir Chasson.
