Flávia Darcie is a Brazilian Mezzo-Soprano based in New York City. She received her Master’s Degree in Classical Vocal Performance from New York University and her Bachelor’s in music with concentration in Conducting from FAAM, university located in São Paulo, where she was born and raised. Her musical path started at the age of ten, as a classical pianist. Her passion and curiosity for many art forms led her to explore choir and orchestral conducting, acting and singing. Later she realized that as an Opera Singer she would finally be able to unite these different means of expression.
She is a member of The Opera Collective, Dell'Arte Ensemble Opera 2021 season and IBOC. Recent performances include the International Brazilian Opera Company’s Brazilian Independence Day and Spring recitals, and the operas Waiting for the rain (Hildegard), Prima la musica e poi le parole (Poeta), L’enfant et les sortilèges (Chinese tea cup and Dragonfly), Dialogues of the Carmelites (Sister Anne) and A Game of Chance (Third Lady). Other previous experiences are the Young Artist Program Premiere Opera International in Italy, the Conducting Workshop with The String Orchestra of Brooklyn and The Messiah at Lincoln Center with the DCINY’s Orchestra (Distinguished Concerts International New York).
