Bio

Dr. Anne Elise Richie

Mezzo-soprano Dr. Anne Elise Richie is a graduate of the Florida State University, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and the North Carolina School of the Arts. A Metropolitan Opera District Winner, Dr. Richie has studied and toured in Italy, France, and Germany. She has had principal roles in a variety of opera and music theatre productions including Cavalleria Rusticana, Little Women, Madama Butterfly, The Marriage of Figaro, The Magic Flute, Orfeo, Pirates of Penzance, and 1776. In addition to her four seasons with Florentine Opera and four seasons with the New York City Opera Chorus, Dr. Richie has performed with the Birmingham Symphony, Milwaukee Catholic Symphony Orchestra, University of Chicago and Winston-Salem/Piedmont Triad Orchestras.

Dr. Richie was a member of the Vocal Arts Faculty of the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music from 2014-2021. Her college and high school teaching positions include Visiting Professor of Voice at the University of North Florida and Head of Vocal Studies at the prestigious Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in Jacksonville, Florida. For over 20 years she has trained aspiring singers of all ages from her private studios in Milwaukee, WI, Jacksonville, FL, Rockland, NY, and Winston-Salem, NC. Dr. Richie is available for both in-person and online lessons. Dr. Richie is Alto Soloist at Fifth Church of Christ Scientist as well as Cantor at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Milwaukee. She is an experienced vocal adjudicator for the Wisconsin School Music Association and Milwaukee Musical Teachers Association. In recent years her volunteer work has included serving as First Vice President of the Milwaukee Music Teachers Association and Treasurer of the Depression Era Glass Society of Wisconsin.
