Lia Zheng is a high school junior at Canyon Crest Academy, San Diego, California. Lia has been training in classical vocal since fifth grade with Zeping Cai, formerly professor and chair at Shanghai Normal University. Recently, Lia had the privilege to work with several renowned musicians and music educators in Southern California including Kathleen Martin, Bruce Stasyna, Vera Calabria and Bill Vendice. Lia performs regularly at local cultural events, e.g., the annual Yucai Gala. In 2021 and 2022, Lia won 2nd place in the Art Song category of the Early Teen and High School division respectively at the Hal Leonard Vocal Competition. In 2022, Lia was named a Grand Prize Finalist for Classical Voice in the Los Angeles Music Center's Spotlight competition, and is scheduled to perform at the Ahmanson Theatre on June 15.
