Soprano, Erin Hannon, began her career in her hometown of Virginia Beach, VA, taking on small roles with the Virginia Musical Theater. She studied to get her Music degree at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA, where she fell in love with opera. Erin changed her sights to studying opera and music history, and while still in school, she performed with the Virginia Opera, and sang the role of Papagena in Mozart’s Die Zauberflote in Rome, Italy. In 2005, Erin was invited to Tokyo, Japan to record Kakehashi: That We Might Live, a 70-minute work commemorating the sacrifices of WWII in the Pacific by Composer, Stephen Melillo.
Erin continued her studies at The Boston Conservatory where she received a Masters of Music in Opera Performance and is currently working towards her Doctorate of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance at the University of Kentucky.
Most recently, Erin has performed concerts at the Italian and French Embassy, premiered the role of “Betsy Todd” in the new American Opera “Mary Todd” and will be singing the role of Elizabeth Proctor in “The Crucible” by Robert Ward in the spring.
Other roles include Mademoiselle Silberklang in Der Schauspieldirektor, Lucy in Jekyll and Hyde, The Wardrobe in Beauty and the Beast Broadway, and Suor Angelica in Puccini’s Suor Angelica, Donna Elvira in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Mimi in La Boheme, Arabella in Strauss’s Arabella, Violetta in La Travatia, and Magda in La Rondine.
