Pittsburgh born Soprano Rachel Silverstein is thrilled to be participating in this years CS Music Voice Competition! Silverstein most recently performed at the Miami Music Festival at Miami Beach as the spirit La Gloire in Lully's opera ARMIDE as well as cover the role of Countess in Mozart's LE NOZZE DI FIGARO. Silverstein has also performed at the Si Parla Si Canta music festival in Italy as well as the International Performing Arts Institute in Germany.
Rachel Silverstein completed her Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Performance at Ithaca College, studying with Dr. Randie Blooding. While at Ithaca, Silverstein performed in the main stage operas as well as the opera workshops, roles including Sesto in LA CLEMENZA DI TIO, cover for Athamas in SEMELE, and covering the role of Meg in LITTLE WOMEN by Mark Adamo.
Silverstein currently studies with Sari Gruber of Carnegie Mellon University and will be starting her Masters in Opera Performance at Rutgers' Mason Gross School of Music in fall of 2020.
