South African soprano Marieke de Koker is a senior at DePaul University. She is currently recording the roles of Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte (Supernova Opera) and Dido in Dido & Aeneas (DePaul Choirs) and she is looking forward to debuting Queen of the Night (LAH-SOW Opera Workshop) and Musetta (Jerusalem Lyric Opera Academy) this Summer. Other roles include Susanna (DePaul Opera Theater), Madame Silberklang (DePaul Opera Club) and Madame Herz (Austrian American Mozart Academy). She recently won First Place at the Charleston International Music Competition and Second Place at the Hal Leonard Vocal Competition. She was a prize winner at the Voices of South Africa International Opera Singing Competition and the Casa Italia Vocal Scholarship competition.
