Soprano Caitlin Towell attends Oklahoma City University as a first-year graduate student (MM in Opera Performance) studying with Kelly Holst and Jan McDaniel. Receiving her BMA in Lyric Theatre from the University of Illinois, she studied with Dawn Harris, Michael Tilley, and Sarah Wigley. She placed third in the SIYAO Voice Competition, received an Encouragement Award from the NSAL Winston Scholarship Competition, was a semi-finalist in the James Toland Vocal Arts Competition, and was a finalist in the Musicians Club of Women and American Prize competitions. With the vocal company of the College Light Opera Company, Caitlin performed in eight shows, singing Phyllis (Iolanthe), Anne Egerman (A Little Night Music), and Lady Ella (Patience), as well as featured roles and ensemble. Other favorites include Despina (Cosi fan tutte), Marcellina (Le nozze di Figaro), Meg (Little Women), Babette (Beauty & the Beast), Phoebe (Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder), and Sandra (Big Fish). Caitlin is a proud plant mom, bookworm, and occasional pianist.
