Known for her soaring voice and richly nuanced characters, soprano Carrie Hennessey is consistently thrilling audiences and critics in opera and concert appearances around the world. Ms. Hennessey leapt into the 2021/2022 season performing the title role in Kát’á Kabanová by Leoš Janáček with West Edge Opera, immediately followed by her illuminating the comic, awkward, and vulnerable Rose in At the Statue of Venus with Festival Opera accompanied on piano by composer Jake Heggie. Ms. Hennessey will appear in numerous recitals, orchestral and chamber music concerts and continuous music education projects this season..

Recent performances include Estelle in an immersive performance of opera The Stronger and a world premiere of the opera Bones of Girls by librettist, Cristina Fríes and composer, Ryan Suleiman both aforementioned productions with The Rogue Music Project, of which she is a co-founding member. www.roguemusicproject.com Notable highlights include collaboration on and performance of a world premiere ballet On the Rocks, Please! with choreographer Darrell Grand Moultrie and the Sacramento Ballet. Ms. Hennessey has performed with symphony orchestras and opera companies all over the country, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, Gounod’s Messe solennelle en l'honneur de Sainte Cécile, Brahms’ Requiem. Past performances include Ms. Hennessey’s orchestral debut of Strauss’ Vier Letzte Lieder with conductor Daniel Stewart, Mozart’s Exsultate, Jubilate!, Mahler Symphony No. 2 and Symphony No. 4, chamber works including Respighi’s Il Tramonto, Ravel’s Trois Poèmes de Stéphane Mallarmé and a recital of songs by and with beloved American composer, Ricky Ian Gordon. Ms. Hennessey advocates for music education by giving Master Classes in the communities in which she works, nurtures a thriving private vocal studio and sits as an artistic advisory board member of the Sacramento Children’s Chorus.
