Bio

I’ve been singing since age 4. My training started with a hula class that included singing. At 5, I was in a musical theater class. At 6, I started taking private musical theater voice lessons. At 7, I started taking private weekly lessons with college opera professor Paul Sahuc. I studied with him, first in person and on Skype after he left the state, until 2018. During that time, he introduced me to my first Italian aria at 8, beginning my love for classical repertoire. At 12, I performed in a Zarzuela, “Luisa Fernanda,” at University of California at Santa Barbara, where he taught. While studying with him, I learned opera arias, art songs, and folk songs in 21 languages. I graduated from high school at 13, having been homeschooled. Since then, I’ve become a professional journalist/content and copywriter, specializing in classic films, vintage fashion, and traditional entertainment. I have been a contributing writer and interviewer in print, online, and in online streaming with The Epoch Times for two and a half years I’ve continued training my voice during that time. I studied two years of German in high school, completed a third year after graduating, and had a private tutor. I’m currently studying Italian and French on Duolingo. In June 2021, I began studying voice with Michael Chipman, having been looking for a new California teacher to inspire me for a couple of years. I studied with him until November. In February 2022, I started studying with my current teacher, Dr. William J. Eichorn, who is helping me find my authentic, mature voice. I have played the piano for over ten years. I took years of ballet, tap, and ballroom classes/private lessons. I love creating original works of many media, including written works like poems and short stories as well as choreographing original classical ballets with my sisters. Dr. Eichorn’s training has motivated me to seriously pursue my ten-year dream of becoming a professional opera singer. I love the costumes, historic, and literary background of opera as well as the music. Performing is my true love.
