Susana Cuartas

• 1st Place High School Classical Winner of NATS Auditions, Southern Region, 2024 (Qualifier Round for 2025 Nationals)

Susana is a third-year student at New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts (NOCCA), studying under Phyllis Treigle and Mark Anthony Thomas. Susana sang the role of Shepherd Boy with the New Orleans Opera in their 2024 production of Tosca and has worked with their children's chorus since 2022. She is an alumnus of the Louisiana State Honor Choir. In her first year competing in the Southern Regional Qualifier of NATS auditions, she earned first place in High School Classical division.

Susana began singing with her school choir at age 8 and her church's adult choir at 9. She began studying piano when she was 7. She is currently working on piano, pipe organ, jazz vocals and flute in addition to classical voice. She attends production classes at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation. She studied with the National Youth Opera in Summer 2023 at Vail Opera Camp.
