  • Xiaohan Chen, Chinese Mezzo-soprano now resident in the United States. Opera Singer in Atlanta Opera and Fort Worth Opera, Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) pursuing in University of Georgia, Master graduated in Manhattan School of Music. 
  • Ms.Chen is an emerging artist in operatic and concert work. 2023 Ms. Chen will perform opera with The Atlanta Opera “The Anonymous Lover”, and “The postcard of Morocco” in UGA Fine Arts Theatre, and concert works will performing in Vancouver and Toronto, and Atlanta. 2022 Xiaohan Chen performed 96-Hours Project with Atlanta Opera. Also, opera work included Faust (Siebel), Albert Herring (Nancy), Werther (Charlotte), Cosi Fan Tutte (Dorabella).  Orchestra concert Messaiah (Alto Soloist), and two Doctoral recital.
  • At the past 3 years, Ms.Chen earned Opera Guild Atlanta finalist, New York Classic Music Society competition finalist, and Premiere Opera Foundation Semi-Finalist, Chicago Classical Singer competition Semi-Finalist, The North International Music Competition second prize, Ise-Shima International Singing Competition Special prize. She also trained as a young artist at the International Vocal Arts Institute and Canadian Vocal Arts Institute.

Bio

2021 performances: virtual Russian Opera Workshop for Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin (Olga & role study for Larina and Filipievna), and Italy international music festival for Rossini's La Cenerentola (Angelica). 2020 contracted with Miami Music Festival for Carmen(Mercedes), Fort Worth Opera Die Fledermaus(Ensemble), Berlin Opera Academy for Hänsel & Gretel(Hansel cover), Gianni Schicchi(La Ciesca), and Sour Angelica(Mistress of the Novices).

Previous credits include Lakme(Mallika), Le Contes d’Hoffmann(Nicklausse), Così fan Tutte(Dorabella), and Cendrillon(Cendrillon & Spirits). Other opera works include La Cenerentola, Orfeo ed Euridice, Der Zigeunebaron, The Dangerous Liaisons, and L’enfant et Les sortilèges.

Her solo work and notable concert performances include the 2020 online concert “His Light Still Shine” with Fort Worth Opera Chorus, “water Passion” with Tan Dun in Metropolitan Art of Museum, Opera Scenes at New York Lyric Opera Gala at Carnegie Hall, Concert De Gala at Montreal, New York Classical Music Society International Voice Competition Final Concert. The International Song Concert, American Art Song Concert, Aria Concert, and two Opera Scenes Concert in Mannes School of Music. Manhattan School of Music Chamber Choir Conservatory Project in Kennedy Center, Lelio(Berlioz) in New Jersey Performing Arts Center, The Creation Concert with Xiaoping Hu Chorus at Toronto Liberty Grand. Spiritual Dance Performance Mezzo solo at Manhattan Symphony Space, The 8th Asian American Festival at Boston Lexington Battin Hall, Phoenix TV Chinese New Year Gala at Beijing Phoenix TV Station, Mississauga Chinese New Year Gala at Chinese Culture TV of Canada. Also include German art song concert, Russian pieces concert, Opera moments, and Strauss art songs in Manhattan School of Music

She worked with Conductor Pierre Vallet, Tan Dun, George Manahan, Mattew Aucoin, Kent Tritle, Ronnie Oliver, and Domenico Boyagian. She also worked with director James Robinson, Linda Brovsky, Dona.D.Vaughn, Douglas Fitch, Patrick Diamond, Gordon Ostrowski, William Tracy, and Jorge Parodi, as well as diction coach with Kenneth Merrill, Jane Steele, Joan Dornemann, Kathryn LaBouff, Raymond Beegle, Glenn Morton, Michael Strauss, and Nobuko Amemiya. Voice worked with Mignon Dunn, Catherine Malfitano, Ruth Falcon, and Judith Forst.
