Although Olivia’s role as Gertrude in her middle school’s production of Horton Hear's a Who! made her fall in love with performing, she never thought a career in music was a realistic option. Originally prepared to apply for nursing school, Olivia’s career plans shifted drastically after moving to New York from Arizona in 2015. After taking her first private voice lesson in 2016, she was reminded of the joy she felt from singing and decided to pursue formal training.
In 2019, Olivia graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance from Hunter College in New York City. During her undergraduate years at Hunter College, her love and innate talent for classical vocal music and opera was nurtured and developed.
Olivia performed in Harnick’s and Mollicone’s Lady Bird and in other productions of the American Opera Project. Sacred music include featured soprano soloist in W.A Mozart’s Vespers and Vivaldi’s Gloria with the Hunter College Choir and Chamber Singers. Olivia won Hunter College’s Concerto Competition and will perform Mozart’s concert aria, Vado, ma dove? with the Hunter College Symphony in 2021.
In the summer of 2019, Olivia performed with the New York Lyric Opera Theatre as the First Lady in The Magic Flute. She also performed in concert versions of Le nozze di Figaro as Barbarina and as Iris in Handel’s Semele.
Olivia is now resides in Tucson, AZ with her husband, daughter and studies voice with Maria Argyros as she continues to further her own professional career.
