Bio

Josie is a third year Vocal Performance major at Pacific Lutheran University studying under Holly Boaz. In her free time she enjoys singing jazz and leading worship at her church.

In April 2025, she will play Summer in Purcell’s The Fairy-Queen

In January 2025, she will perform in the chorus of Amahl and the Night Visitors, and play Hildy in a scene from On the Town.

In October 2024, she performed in the chorus of Tacoma Opera’s La Boheme

In May of 2024, she performed in the chorus of PLU’s fully staged production of HMS Pinafore.

In October and November 2023, she was in the chorus of PLU’s Die Fledermaus scenes program as a collaboration with the NorthWest Sinfonietta.

In July 2023, she played Orfeo in PLU’s summer opera workshop scenes program.

In May 2023, she played Annio and was in the chorus of PLU’s spring opera scenes program.

In January 2023, she was in the chorus of PLU’s production of L'elisir d'amore.

In Spring 2022, she won the region’s WMEA Solo and Ensemble Competition in the Soprano category, the Mixed Duet category (with Cooper Perez PLU ‘26) and the Treble Duet category (with Ava Valentin Tahoma High School ‘24) and went on to perform at the State Competition, scoring all 1s.

In Fall 2021, she performed with Teen Vocal Studio at the Seattle Opera at a private event with David Foster.

In July 2021, she participated in the Washington National Opera Institute and traveled to Chicago to perform at the Classical Singer Music Convention.

In April 2021, she was selected as a finalist for Schmidt Vocal Competition in Washington State, and was chosen to perform in a one-on-one masterclass with Frederica von Stade.

She was accepted into WMEA All-State choir in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020, 2021, and 2022, and NAfME All-Northwest choir in 2021, though the event didn’t take place.

She studied Voice with Nancy Gregory for three years, and was in Tahoma High School’s highest audition choirs, Chamber Choir and Jazz Choir, her sophomore through senior years.
