Jaiden Hsu (he/she/they) is a fifteen-year-old singer and actor from the Chicago area. They are a long-time student of Barbara Ann Martin at the Music Institute of Chicago (MIC) and have been a Merit Scholar and Student Ambassador at the Institute since 2017. Jaiden also plays guitar and piano, studying piano under Louise Chen as well as music composition under Fred Simon at MIC. Jaiden has won numerous vocal competitions, including the Charleston International Classical Music Competition in 2020 and the Walgreens National Concerto Competition in 2019, after which they were invited to perform at Ravinia’s Bennett Gordon Hall. In 2022, Jaiden was the United States winner and selected to represent the USA at an international singing competition and the accompanying performance tour in Germany. In 2023, Jaiden released two singles with producers Little Bird Big Sound out of Savannah, GA, with a 5-song album now in production.
Jaiden’s theater credits include Chicago, Teen Edition (Velma Kelly) and their current role as a Young Soldier in the Lyric Opera’s production of Aida. Jaiden is also a film actor and has starred in numerous productions, two of which were official selections in the Chinese American Film Festival and the Chicago International Film Festival. Jaiden is proud to be represented by DDO Artists Agency Chicago.
