Danielle Brown hails from Kingston, Jamaica. She began singing at an early age which led high to the Northern Caribbean University, where she did a Bachelor of Music in Music Education. In November 2020, Danielle presented her senior recital. The recital was viewed by many over social media and reported in the Jamaica Observer newspaper. She was awarded scholarship status for her service to the Northern Caribbean University. Danielle was inspired through the opportunities given by Dr. Lincoln Edwards, NCU President, to represent the institution on several occasions, and particularly as soloist with the Jamaica Youth Chorale under the direction of Gregory Simms, when they were awarded two Silver Medals for Jamaica in the category of Spiritual and Mixed Chamber Choir genres, at The World Choir Games competition in Tshwane, South Africa. She is currently pursuing her Masters Degree in Vocal Performance at the University of Nevada, Reno, in the the studio of Katherine Parker and where she serves as a Graduate Assistant in the Music Department.
In addition to her artistic endeavors, Danielle Brown has performed as a featured soloist for a number of different ensembles, such as the Jamaica Youth Chorale, the Diocesan Choir, The Jamaica Chorale Scholars, the University of Nevada, Reno Early Music Ensemble and is a member of the UNR Chamber Chorale. She most recently won the UNR Symphony Orchestra Competition, Third place in the CalWest National Association Teachers of Singing, Young Artist Division and a spot for semifinalist in the Classical Singer Music Vocal Competition. In February 2023, Ms. Brown toured with the Jamaica Youth Chorale as part of the Redemption Songs Tour, in April 2023, she has portrayed Galatea in the Opera Acis and Galatea with the Nevada Chamber Opera, and performed the work of Vivaldi’s Stabat Mater as a soloist with the UNR Early Music Ensemble. On May 13, 2023, Ms. Brown presented her first Masters Recital and in June she will portray La Zélatrice in the production of Sour Angelica with Opera Sème in Italy.
