Hello All! I graduated from East Carolina University in 2010 with a Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Performance. Growing up in rough circumstances, I did not have the opportunity to hone my voice before auditioning for undergrad, only having started singing maybe a year or two before, so I was accepted into the East Carolina vocal program under probation. However, in my 4 years at East Carolina I was never able to truly believe in my ability to sing. So after graduating and failing to get in to the one Masters program I applied to, I gave up on singing except for voice lessons here and there. Since 2010 I have been working various jobs supporting myself and I am now a mail carrier in Bloomington, IN. I bought a house in 2021 and decided to settle down in life. But after finding God in May of 2021, my life turned around. He gave me confidence to start singing again and now I have a strength not based on myself but on Him. I understand that he gives all us the gifts we have. The CS music competition/convention is what I would call my reintroduction to the classical singing world and I am very excited. I have been taking voice lessons for three years with Dr. Juliet Gilchrist who received her bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees in Voice Performance at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN.
