Lori DeAnn Williams

Originally from the Black Hills of South Dakota, Lori DeAnn Williams began her music studies very early as a flutist and was a double major in flute and voice in college. Lori originally attended the University of Wyoming on a full music scholarship, ultimately receiving her B.M.E. from the University of New Mexico, and an M.A. in Vocal Performance from the University of Illinois. As an undergraduate at the University of Wyoming, Lori won the regional Young Artist Competition held in Colorado. While completing her MA degree at the University of Illinois, Lori won the Krannert Debut Artist Award performing in recital at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, was a scholarship winner at the University of Miami School of Music Summer Program in Salzburg and a Kate Neal Kinley finalist. Lori was most recently a finalist in the Seattle Opera Guild Training Grant Competition, First Place winner in the Bellevue PAFE competition in the Opera Master Class division for the second year in a row and First Place winner in the Song Recital division, receiving Best in Division overall. Lori was heard on KING FM NW Focus Live performing Bach's Quia respexit and Ave Maria with ensemble, including KING FM's afternoon show host Dave Beck on cello.

Her opera roles have included Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor, Desdemona in Otello, Juliette in Romeo et Juliette, Pamina in Le Nozze di Figaro, Manon in Massenet’s Manon, Ilia in Idomeneo, Cendrillon in Massenet’s Cendrillon, and Fiordiligi in Cosi fan tutte. As a member of Seattle’s Ladies Musical Club, Lori performs regularly in Opera Workshop scenes and in recital throughout the Seattle area. Lori's most recent concert appearance was as guest soloist at Haller Lake United Methodist Church with cellist Dale Henderson, Founder of the internationally acclaimed Bach in the Subways movement. She has also performed as soloist with the Federal Way Symphony in Handel’s Messiah, the Rapid City Symphony ensemble, the University of Illinois Symphony and the Indianapolis Chamber Winds, to name a few. Lori was last heard in Everett singing selections from the Messiah and as soprano soloist in the Brahms Liebeslieder Walzer at the Everett Performimg Arts Center. She last sang Brahms lieder at the International Johannes Brahms Competition in Poertschach, Austria. Other performances abroad included a Mozart recital at the Neue Residenz in Salzburg and as guest soloist at a number of venues in West Yorkshire, UK. She was selected as an auxiliary chorus member with Seattle Opera and with Opera North, UK, and sang in the London premier of Alban Opera Company’s production of Alban.

Lori lives in Northwest Everett with her husband and is studying with internationally acclaimed tenor and voice teacher Michael Trimble of the Trimble Vocal Institute.
