Baritone Justin McBurney is an aspiring young artist whose analytical mind and instinct for feeling have led him to a fulfilling beginning to his career through his studies.
Growing up in a musical family, his mother a handbell director and father a choral singer, Justin had plenty of encouragement towards his musical pursuits. Up until recently an oboist as well, he has performed with artists such as Sarah McLachlan, soprano Larisa Martinez, maestro David Gilbert, as well as members of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra in that capacity.
Fairly new to the classical voice scene, only starting lessons three years ago during his time at Montclair State, Justin has taken to his voice study like a fish to water. Since the start of his study, he has sung the roles of Figaro (Le Nozze di Figaro) with New Jersey Vocal Arts Collaborative and Tod (Der Kaiser von Atlantis) in Montclair State's production.
Recently deciding to pursue voice full-time, he will be attending San Francisco Conservatory in the fall to work on a Master's in Vocal Performance studying with Matt Worth.
