Evan Shidler

Evan Shidler, 17 year old baritone, has been a Dean’s List student at the Manhattan School of Music Precollege Division where he studies with Ronald Cappon. President of the Junior class and an AP student at Millburn High School, Millburn, NJ, and a 2022 Carson Scholar, he began his singing career from 2015-2018 performing in over 75 performances with the Metropolitan Opera Children’s Chorus in both solo and ensemble roles: Third Spirit (cover) in Die Zauberflöte /The Magic Flute; Max (cover) in Werther; and ensemble in Tosca, Hansel and Gretel, Parsifal, Carmen, La Bohème and Der Rosenkavalier. Evan was accepted Early Decision to the 2021 Tanglewood Young Artists program, where he was awarded the opportunity to sing in a master class with Morris Robinson and achieved a 4.0 GPA (the highest possible). He was named a 2022 YoungArts Winner, classical voice; top ten 2021 Classical High School Singers in Classical Singer Fall Online Competition; 3rd place winner internationally, 2021 American Classical Young Musician Award; Classical Teen Finalist, 2022 Music International Grand Prix; Regional Finalist, 2021 Schmidt Vocal Institute Competition; and top ten in USA in Early Teen, 2021 Hal Leonard Vocal Competition.
