Bio

Yunona Tabala is a Russian-American lyric-coloratura based in Boston, MA. She recently received her Master's of Music degree from Longy School of Music of Bard College as a Natasha Jakoff Scholar. While at Longy, she was a participant of the Boston Opera Collaborative Artist Training (2021-2022) and MassOpera Artist Training (2022-2023). As an Artist in Training with the Mass Opera, Yunona made her professional Boston debut in The Magic Flute production (Spring 2023) as the Second Spirit and as the study cover of Pamina. In June 2023, she made her Carnegie Hall Weill Recital Hall debut as an Honorable Mention recipient of the 2022 American Virtuoso International Music Competition.

Yunona is serving as a soprano soloist and section leader at First Parish in Lexington Unitarian Universalist, where she frequently performs excerpts from treasured oratorio repertoire, including Mozart's Requirem, Handel's Messiah and Beethoven's Mass in C. In December 2022, she appeared with the Masterworks Chorale Boston as a soprano soloist for the group's 61st annual Messiah Sing. She is looking forward to performing Beethoven's Mass in C with Lexington Symphony in Fall 2024.
