Bio

Ingrid Rodriguez is a classically-trained lyric soprano and crossover cabaret singer. Her unique virtuosic approach of combining sets of opera arias with 20th-century cabaret favorites has earned her a special place on the Indianapolis music scene.

Ingrid grew up in her hometown of Indianapolis, IN singing in the Indianapolis Children's Choir. At 19, she became a serious opera student at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music. At Jacobs, Ingrid studied under the tutelage of opera legend, Teresa Kubiak. While at IU, she was also a member of the Grammy Award-nominated Singing Hoosiers for 3 years, whom she performed with all over the United States.

Today, Ingrid works as a freelance performer and vocal coach. She also makes regular appearances with the Indianapolis Opera chorus, and works closely with Classical Music Indy- a non-for-profit outreach dedicated to bringing classical music performance to underserved populations in Indianapolis. Ingrid has performed at such Indianapolis venues as, The Jazz Kitchen, Indiana Landmarks, the Indianapolis Zoo, Eskenazi Hospital, the Harrison Center for the Arts, and The Melody Inn. In June 2018, she produced her first solo cabaret show for children titled, Dreams Come True: A Princess Cabaret Show at the Theater at the Fort in Indianapolis. Most recently, she released her first album titled, "Opera Meets Broadway".
