The Italian-Argentine lyric coloratura soprano was born on August 29, 1997 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. As talent and passion for the performing arts and music were always part of her, she began taking popular singing, theater and dance classes since she was little. However, she discovered her vocation for lyrical singing when she was 20 years old and at that moment she decided that this would be her profession. This is how she began to train in vocal technique and musical theory, and after a year of arduous training she got into the Bachelor of Music, specialized in lyrical singing at the Universidad Nacional de las Artes, where she studied singing with the great Argentine mezzo-soprano Marta Blanco. In addition to her intense vocal and musical training, the soprano also dedicated her time to the study of languages; Therefore, she is fluent in English, German, Italian and French, in addition to her native language (Spanish). Likewise, she began her studies of Russian. Candela always considered languages to be essential in her career.
During her studies she was awarded a scholarship by Juventus Lyrica and the Fundación Williams to participate in the master classes of "Sing-in progress" by Armando Noguera, "Baroque and Classical Repertoire" by Hernán Schvartzman, "Sight-singing" by Hernán Sánchez and "Vocal Technique for Sopranos" by Eiko Senda. In addition, she has participated in master classes on the study of recitatives and vocal technique given by Jorge Hevia and Verónica Villarroel, respectively. In February 2022, she was part of the Opera Workshop given by the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme in Montevideo, Uruguay, where she had the opportunity to take classes with teachers such as David Gowland, Rosa Dominguez, André Heller-Lopes, Satoshi Kubo and Emanuele Moris. Throughout her career, Candela has also taken vocal technique, repertoire and acting classes with various teachers; among others Deborah Polaski, Nelly Miricioiu, John Norris, Robert Grayson, Iride Martinez, Jaquelina Livieri, Gudrun Bär, Hilkea Knies, Siegfried Gohritz, Hans Joachim Beyer, Rocío Martinez, Alejandra Malvino, Graciela De Gyldenfeldt, Araceli Quijano, Carlos Chausson, Maurizio Ciampi, Ruben Sanchez-Vieco, Susana Cardonnet, Sergio Giai, Guillermo Opitz, Julia Manzitti, Perla Wicky, Graciela Ulibarri, Norman Briski and Beatriz Odoriz. Currently, she is training in vocal technique with maestro Mariano Pattin.
In 2019, she was chosen by the Compañía de Ópera de la Universidad Nacional de las Artes to perform the roles of L'enfant, Une Pastourelle and L'écureuil from the opera L'ENFANT ET LES SORTILÈGES. This production was performed throughout that year at the Teatro del Globo, Manzana de las Luces and also in many schools. In 2021, she had the opportunity to play the roles of Annina and Flora in the opera LA TRAVIATA, performed at the Jockey Club Barrio Norte and produced by Eduviges Picone. In addition, she played the role of Prima Cameriera in the opera AMELIA AL BALLO, produced by Ópera Joven and performed at the Teatro Empire.
Candela wanted the world to know her, that is why in 2021 she participated in the Neue Stimmen international competition and made it to the second round of it. In 2022 she participated in the Competizione Dell'Opera competition, where she was a semi-finalist and was also offered the current employment contract at the Theater Erfurt, Germany. Likewise, that year she was awarded the third prize in the 20º Concurso Brasileiro de Canto Maria Callas.
Before starting her 2022/2023 season at the Theater Erfurt, the soprano performed the role of Amelia in the opera AMELIA AL BALLO, produced by Ópera Joven, at the Teatro Empire in Buenos Aires. In the 2022/2023 season at the Theater Erfurt, Gotelli played the main roles of Pamyra from LE SIÈGE DE CORINTHE (production: Markus Dietz, musical direction: Yannis Pouspourikas) and Circe from TELEMACO (production: Stephan Witzlinger, musical direction: Nicolas Krüger). She also played the roles of 5. Magd from ELEKTRA (director: Giancarlo del Monaco, musical direction: Alexander Prior), Athene from ORESTES (director: Guy Montavon, musical direction: Alexander Prior), Kanda from ELENI (production: Guy Montavon, musical director: Myron Michailidis) and Li Si by JIM KNOPF (production: Stephanie Kuhlmann, musical director: Stefano Cascioli).
In the current 2023/2024 season at the Theater Erfurt, she played the roles of 1st Niece in PETER GRIMES (director: Marin Blažević, musical director: Clemens Fieguth), Kate Mullins and Madeleine Astor in the musical TITANIC (production: Stephan Witzlinger, musical director: Clemens Fieguth), first elf in RUSALKA (production: Guy Montavon, musical director: Clemens Fieguth) and Woglinde in DAS RHEINGOLD (production: Jürgen Weber, musical director: Pedro Halffter). Some of her future commitments for the 2024/2025 season are the roles of Musetta in LA BOHÈME, Lauretta in GIANNI SCHICCHI, Lola in CAVALLERIA RUSTICANA, Sandmännchen and Taumännchen in HÄNSEL UND GRETEL and Li Si in JIM KNOPF.
