Current Studies and Focus

Now at the Royal College of Music, Briggs is dedicated to refining his craft as a baritone. Under Tim-Evans Jones’s mentorship, he is exploring a broad repertoire and working on knowing his instruments true abilities.

Early Years and Musical Journey

Briggs began his musical journey at a young age, performing as a touring Concert-Choir member of the American Boychoir School under Director Fernando Ruiz–Malvar. His early tours took him across the US and China, with performances at renowned venues such as the Beijing Concert Hall, the Metropolitan Museum, and the Kimmel Center’s Verizon Hall alongside the Philadelphia Orchestra.

Before joining the American Boychoir School, Briggs made his stage debut at age 9, appearing as a Sprite in Verdi’s Falstaff with Shakespeare Opera Theatre. At 10, he further showcased his talents in a series of performances at Riverside Center in Fredericksburg, VA—where he was featured in a production celebrating the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber—and appeared in a made-for-television opera titled Vireo. Additionally, he has been a committed member of both the youth and adult choirs at Trinity Episcopal Church in Upperville, VA, contributing to a rich tradition of choral experience over the past 10 years.
