Bio

Madalyn Walters is a Senior, Vocal Performance Major at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point. When attending Fox Valley Lutheran High School she appeared in the musical theatre productions of “Annie” as Annie, “The Sound of Music” as the Mother Abbess and “Cinderella” as the step sister Gabriel as well as in the children's play “The Great Cross Country Race” as Jackie. Madalyn had competed annually while attending Fox Valley Lutheran at the WSMA Solo and Ensemble Competition where she was recognized her Sophomore year at the State Competition with the Exemplary Soloist Award. Madalyn continues to compete using her voice in the regional NATS competition as well as prior CS Music competitions. Before transferring to UWSP she began her studies at Millikin University where she portrayed the character of Papagana in the Millikin University Opera workshop production of “The Magic Flute”. The most recent collegiate production Madalyn has been apart of was UWSP’s production of “Die Fledermaus” where Madalyn had the honor of covering the role of Adele. Madalyn’s most recent singing adventure took her to the Big Island of Hawaii were she performed the role of Mustardseed as well as covered for Tytania in Benjamin Britten's “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival. This past summer, Madalyn was honored to be apart of the online opera production of "Giulio Cesare" for the summer program Antigua y Moderna. For the program, Madalyn showed her vocal versatility while performing the role of Cornelia and covering the role of Cleopatra. Madalyn looks forward to yet another grand adventure where she will be traveling to Vicenza, Italy where she will perform the role of Miss. Pinkerton in the opera production “The Old Maid and The Thief,” which is apart of the International Lyric Academy summer program. Madalyn LOVES to sing anywhere she goes, whether that be at church in the praise band, or on her favorite place, the stage.
