Mikaela George is a current freshman at Northwestern University in Evanston, pursuing a dual-degree of Vocal Performance and Economics. Having grown up in California, Mikaela was a dedicated member of the music community in her hometown. She was honored as a 2024 San Mateo County Youth Cultural Ambassador and has performed widely around the Bay Area, having led solo performances at venues such as the Filoli Historic House & Garden and Peninsula Regent of San Mateo. Mikaela sang with the Peninsula Girls Chorus of Burlingame’s premier chorus Ensemble for seven years, touring with Ensemble in Spain and France, and having represented PGC at the American Choral Directors Association Western and National Conferences in Salt Lake City, Long Beach, Cincinnati and Pasadena. She performed in the yearly Music Teachers' Association of California Certificate of Merit Evaluations, achieving State Honors, and holds titles of first place in the 2024 Royal Maas International Competition, the 2024 Pacific Musical Society & Foundation Competition and the 2023 Charleston International Baroque Competition. Mikaela previously studied voice under Gina Vandellos, and currently studies with Louise Costigan-Kerns, an opera coach and Stanford University piano faculty member, and Theresa Brancaccio, a Northwestern Voice Faculty member.
