From Wilmette, Illinois, Colombian-American soprano Ella Torres is committed to singing diverse repertoire. She particularly enjoys interpreting early music, off-the-beaten-path art songs, and compositions by historically underrepresented composers.
In 2022, Ella graduated with a B.M. in voice and an Arts Leadership Program certificate from Eastman School of Music (Rochester, NY). She is currently pursuing an M.M. in Voice at the Jacobs School of Music (Bloomington, IN).
Recent performances include Serpetta in Mozart's La finta giardiniera (Indiana University (IU) Opera Theatre), Second Woman in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas (IU Summer Chorus), Niña in Osvaldo Golijov's Ainadamar (IU Opera Theatre), Princess Dora in Lori Laitman’s The Three Feathers (Opera Steamboat), Erste Dame in Die Zauberflöte (Chicago Summer Opera), and Polyxo in Kate Soper's Here Be Sirens Suite (Eastman Opera Theatre).
