ANABELL GARFIO (Soprano)

Anabell Garfio is an Austrian-Mexican soprano based in Vienna, Austria. She received her formal training at prestigious institutions including the University of Guadalajara in Mexico, Mozarteum Salzburg under Heiner Hopfner, the Vienna Konservatorium, and the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien, where she studied with renowned instructors such as KS Hilda De Groote, Helga Meyer-Wagner, and Elsa Kastela.

Anabell's operatic repertoire encompasses a wide range of roles, showcasing her versatility and vocal brilliance. She has performed as Adele in Die Fledermaus, Euridice in Orfeo ed Euridice, Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi, Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte, Musetta in La Bohème, Violetta in La Traviata, Gilda in Rigoletto, Marguerite in Faust, Marie in Die verkaufte Braut, and Donna Anna in Don Giovanni.

As a distinguished concert soloist, Anabell has performed Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony and sacred masterpieces by Bach, Beethoven, Haydn, and Mozart, including Mozart’s Requiem and Coronation Mass. Her interpretation of Stabat Mater by Pergolesi, Vivaldi, and Boccherini has earned acclaim at festivals and in leading Viennese concert venues, such as the Ehrbarsaal, Palais Palffy, Bösendorfer Saal, UNO Vienna International Center, Wiener Rathaus Festsaal, Hofburg Vienna, the Großer Saal of the Konzerthaus, and the Goldener Saal of the Wiener Musikverein.

Anabell has graced stages across Mexico, Colombia, the United States, Germany, Italy, Poland, the Czech Republic, France, Slovakia, and Austria. Notable appearances include participation in several renowned summer opera festivals in Austria, with her most recent engagement at the Vienna Opera Academy, where she performed as Serpina in La Serva Padrona and Violetta in La Traviata, both roles receiving excellent reviews.

In January 2023, Anabell was invited to perform at gala concerts in Pasto (Colombia) and at the Festival Alfonso Ortiz Tirado (FAOT) in Álamos, Mexico. She has been invited to return to both events in January 2025.

Anabell has had the privilege of working with esteemed conductors and directors such as Moises Ordaz Cisneros, Carlos Garcia, Oliverio Payan, Jacob Chi, Maksimiljan Cencic, Vito Cristofaro, Margarita Kyriaki, Andrea Tiziani, Daniele Anselmi, Christian Pollak, Konrad Leitner, Luis Muñoz Segovia, Alessandro Pagliazzi, Toby Purser, and Wolfgang Dosch.
