Austin Elkins is a dedicated and versatile baritone with a strong background in not only opera, but musical theater and stage acting as well. He has graced the stage in a variety of roles, showcasing his talent as leads in productions such as "The Addams Family", "Puffs", and "Walk Two Moons", to name a few. He has performed at both Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House, founded a school-wide visual and performing arts student council, and has held leadership roles in both choir - where he leads the basses across two choirs and holds a seat on the choir council - and theater - of which he is president and the VAPA board representative. Furthermore, his recognition as a two-time nominee for Artist of the Year, selection as Beckman's vocal medallion winner - the highest possible award for VAPA students, and his placements and wins across several competitions reflect his dedication and the respect he commands in the musical community. Outside of the spotlight, Austin has trained under notable vocal coaches such as Keila San Pedro, Christine Oppedisano, and Chapman's Marc Callahan. His education also includes summer programs, such as the Berklee Vocal/Choral Intensive, and ongoing training at his high school theater and choral program.
He will be attending the Boston Conservatory at Berklee for their BM in Voice/Opera in the fall.
