Shae Brodsky has been singing all his life. He was born into a family of musicians and started taking piano lessons at the age of 5 (and has continued lessons to this day). Shae always loved to sing music by artists such as Queen and The Beatles, but when his voice changed, he was unable to sing their songs anymore. At the age of 11, he began taking voice lessons at the John G. Shedd Institute for the Arts. Through these lessons, Shae discovered classical music and musical theater. In 2022, Shae joined The EY Harburg Academy, a musical theater camp where Shae found his passion for performing on stage. In his freshman year of high school, Shae joined the school choir and is now a member of the Winston Churchill High School Downing Street Singers, a primarily a cappella jazz ensemble.
Shae has been featured in the role of Barnaby Tucker in Hello, Dolly!, Ewart Dunlop in The Music Man, Kurt Von Trapp in The Sound of Music, and many other ensemble roles at the Shedd Institute for the Arts. Shae has spent his summers continuing his education in solo and ensemble performance at the 2023 Oregon Bach Festival’s Stangeland Family Choral Academy and the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, 2024 Vocal/Choral Intensive.
Shae is dedicated to his future as a professional singer and looks forward to pursuing a major in vocal performance.
