Jerek Fernández is a 20-year-old tenor from San Juan, Puerto Rico, making a mark as a quickly rising artist in operatic and concert work. He is a second-year student in the vocal performance program at the Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico. In his journey, Fernández has gathered a series of experiences, such as being a finalist in several competitions, including APPAOS, at the Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico, and Schmidt Vocal Competition, at Mannes School of Music, New York. He also had a debut with the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico, an operatic debut as Kaspar from the opera “Amalh and the Night Visitors” and participated in concerts such as the Concertone V 2019", The Tenor Duel: Battle of the High C's" (2020) and the Casals Festival. Recently, Fernández has been accepted into the in Canto- Louisville program participating as Rodolfo in La Boheme by Giacomo Puccini.
