Jeffrey Yang is a high school senior at the Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA) in Santa Ana, California, where he studies in the Classical Voice Conservatory. He trains with Kathleen Martin as a baritone and is the recipient of numerous awards and accolades from various vocal competitions. He has 6+ years of performance experience through his involvement in choral/solo shows and operas at OCSA and beyond. He performed the role of Falke in OCSA’s April 2023 production of Die Fledermaus. He has studied at the Classical Voice Intensive at New York University Steinhardt, where he worked with Dr. Erik Hood, Dianna Heldman, Dr. Scott Murphree, Harolyn Blackwell, and more. He has also studied at the Intensive Vocal Performance Seminar at Northwestern University with Pamela Hinchman, where he performed the role of Morales from Carmen. He has also participated in various masterclasses in which he has performed for esteemed soprano Cecilia Violetta López, baritone Matthew Worth, prolific presenter and vocal instructor Michael Hanley, and more. Since 2021, he has also served as the co-program director of the OCSA High School Showcase Team, recently featured in the Fall 2022 edition of the Classical Singer magazine. A featured performer alongside the Philharmonic Society of Orange County's Festival Artistic Director, Davóne Tines, he, with the rest of the showcase team, was invited to perform in a creative workshop showcase as part of the Triumph Over Adversity Festival. As founder and co-president of the organization Artingual, he aims to put his classical operatic training to use in bettering youth literacy around his community. In addition to being a singer, he is also a published and award-winning author and poet, having studied at the Kenyon Review Young Writer Workshop and the California State Summer School for the Arts (CSSSA).
