Violet Paris

Violet attends Juilliard Pre-College and Special Music High School. She won the Special Music Concerto Competition with “The Bell Song” from Leo Delibes’ Lakme. In 2023 she represented the Tanglewood Young Artist Voice Program at Tanglewood on Parade, was awarded the Schmidt Vocal Competition Most Promising Sophomore in Boston, performed her composition Flowering Corpse with Caroline Shaw, was a soloist for Caroline Shaw’s Bed of Letters, and had an original composition performed by VOCES8. In 2022 she made her debut with New York City Opera creating the role of Young Micòl in Ricky Ian Gordon’s The Garden of the Finzi-Continis.

In May of 2022 she performed in the San Diego Opera’s The Aging Magician by Paola Prestini with the Brooklyn Youth Chorus. As a member of the Brooklyn Youth Chorus Performance Ensemble she has worked with composers and recorded works by Missy Mizzoli, Nathalie Joachim, Olga Neuwirth and Philip Glass among others. She has also performed with the Manhattan Girls Choir, the Broadway Youth Ensemble, and the Bergen PAC Chorus on stages such as Carnegie Hall, Miller Theater at Columbia University, and Merkin Concert Hall. In 2022 she won first place in the Salzburg Grand Prize Virtuoso Competition as well as the Amsterdam Grand Prize Virtuoso Competition, received honorable mention in Hal Leonard’s Early Teens Musical Theatre Category, and was a finalist in the Hammerstein International Youth Solo Competition and Hal Leonard’s Early Teens Art Song. She is in the finalist pool of young performers being considered for an appearance on NPR’s From the Top. Previously she received first place in competitions Young Virtuoso, Prima Volta, and International Grande Music Competition as well as placed in Arts for All, and Hal Leonard’s Musical Theater and Art Song competitions. Her youth theater credits include Rodrigo II (Little Women) with Kidz Theater, Lady Larkin (Once Upon a Mattress) with Wingspan Conservatory and the Narrator (Into the Woods) with 75 Morton Drama Club. She has been a member of Locomotion Children’s Dance Theater since she was 7.
