Letters to the Editor

Dear Editor: Classical Singer has been a wonderful tool and great inspiration for me as a young singer. Some of the articles I appreciate most are the personal interviews with noted performers, or the guidelines for choosing the right university/conservatory.
—Shaya Greathouse, Lynden, Wash.

Dear Editor: Would love to learn more about art songs: coaches and teachers who are interested in Lieder and other art song/recital repertoire, and accompanists who are interested in collaborating with singers to this specific purpose.
—Name Withheld, West Roxbury, Mass.

Dear Editor: The comics on the back are not very funny. Don’t know if anyone can submit humor, but it’s time for a fresh perspective. Thanks for the classifieds, and the wonderful accommodation and attention from the ad department.
—Susan Lochner, Teaneck, N.J.

[Editor’s Note: Life is full of humor, especially when you’re a singer. For a fresh perspective in our Curtain Call section of CS, for the past several months we’ve invited
readers to submit their humorous stories on and off the stage. We invite you to make us laugh! Submit your stories today at www.classicalsinger.com/curtain_call. Those whose stories are printed receive a check for $25 and Bil Canfield’s original cartoon drawing.]

Dear Editor: In our part of New Orleans, they have not been delivering any magazines since Katrina! But we have been receiving Classical Singer! We’ve been enjoying the magazine very much, and are amazed that it got through to us!
—Ellen Frohnmayer, New Orleans, La.

[Editor’s Note: What heartwarming news! All of us in the CS community wish everyone in New Orleans continued courage and perseverance as you press on in the rebuilding of a remarkable city.]

Dear Editor: Susan Dormady is doing a great job!
—Lori Laitman, Potomac, Md.
