Samantha Nahra is a versatile writer and opera singer based in New York, serving as the director of marketing for Opera on Tap and the co-chair of education and engagement for Opera America. A firm believer that new music is the future of opera, she became a librettist during the beginning of COVID-19 pandemic, writing two YouTube operas, A Dramatic Soprano Tries Cooking…The Opera and its sequel, composed by Philip Wharton, which premiered on her and Opera on Tap’s YouTube channels. In 2022, she was commissioned by Opera on Tap to write “The Divergent Night,” set to music by Obie-award-winning composer Diedre Murray.
