Jake Heggie : A Singer's Composer

Composer Jake Heggie has had long relationships with singers. In his early days working in administration for San Francisco Opera, Heggie began what would be lengthy collaborations with the likes of Frederica von Stade, Thomas Hampson, and Renée Fleming. Now one of the major composers of the current generation, Heggie continues to champion singers. He teaches masterclasses at universities and programs around the country, including such summer programs as SongFest and Ravinia.
