Full-lyric soprano Kerry Deal remains a versatile performer in Greater Boston. She is a frequent interpreter of Mozart, including his Requiem, Coronation Mass, Solemn Vespers, Regina Coeli, and Grand Mass in C Minor, but her performances also encompass a variety of other sacred and orchestral works, ranging from Handel’s Messiah and Haydn’s Creation to the more romantic and contemporary works of Strauss, Brahms, Fauré, Gounod, and Bernstein. Also a champion of new music, Deal has premiered and recorded new works with St. Cecilia Music in Boston, as well as world premieres of art song in Rubinstein Hall in the Munich Steinway-Haus.
Deal earned her BA, magna cum laude, in languages and literature at the College of William and Mary before pursuing graduate studies in music, with an MM from Boston Conservatory and a DMA in voice performance from Boston University. Deal also holds a faculty position at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is currently on the faculty at Opera Viva! summer festival in Verona, Italy.
