Mastering the Top: Strategies for slaying High Notes in Every Style

Discover the efficiency and power of functional singing strategies designed to conquer those money notes with ease. From musical theatre to classical and commercial music, this masterclass will help singers develop strategies to sing high notes with confidence, artistry, and technical excellence.

Dale Cox, Shannon Kessler Dooley, Amelia Rollings Bigler

Dale Cox is an Australian contemporary singing researcher, teacher, and performer. Dr Cox holds a PhD from the University of Southern Queensland, M Mus. Stud. (Voice Pedagogy) from the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University, and BA (Music and English Literature) from the University of New South Wales. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Music at Coastal Carolina University, teaching both musical theatre and commercial music and jazz students. As a performer she has sung music theatre, pop, rock, jazz, R&B, worship, and country music. She has experience performing in musical theatre, concerts, cabaret, as a lead vocalist, backing vocalist, and choir director.

Shannon Kessler Dooley holds a MM (Voice) and a MM (Opera) from the New England Conservatory, and BM (Vocal Performance) from Webster University. Known for her lyricism and expressiveness, Shannon Kessler Dooley has graced the operatic stages of The Metropolitan Opera, Pittsburgh Opera, Utah Opera, Spoleto Festival USA. Ms Dooley still actively performs and will make her role debut as Tosca this summer with Opera Wilmington. Professor Dooley has been teaching at Coastal Carolina University for seven years and has served as Artist in Residence since 2021.

Amelia Rollings Bigler, PhD, MM, currently serves as Assistant Professor of Music (Voice and Voice Pedagogy) at Coastal Carolina University. Dr. Rollings Bigler earned a PhD in Voice Pedagogy from The University of Kansas and a MM in Voice Performance and Pedagogy from The Pennsylvania State University. In 2023, she established the Center for Group-Voice Pedagogy and Research and launched the annual Summer Group-Voice Pedagogy Intensive at CCU. Publications have appeared in the Journal of Voice, the Journal of Singing, and Voice and Speech Review. Dr. Rollings Bigler currently serves as President of the Pan American Vocology Association (PAVA).
