Stephanie Nakasian

Ms. Nakasian is listed in the Encyclopedia of Jazz as one of the Top Singers in the world today. She has released 15 CDs including those in tribute to some of the great singers of jazz. She has been teaching for over 30 years and is based at the University of Virginia. Her touring all over the world has earned her the title "Renaissance Woman of Jazz" and has authored three books on jazz, vocal technique and transformations from voice lessons, as well as released a new online voice lesson series "Your Tip Jar". Her innovative and exciting exercises have made her a favorite clinician in major conferences (IAJE, MENC, MTNA...) and on JazzVoice.com. Her course on Popular Voice at UVa combines safe technique for popular music singing as well as information on preparation of chord charts, and solo shows. Her rhythm exercises have helped many classical students and teachers transition from the classical style of singing to one suitable for popular, theater and jazz music.
