Latin-American and Iberian Repertoire

Brenda Iglesias

Dr. Brenda Iglesias has mingled her career as an artist and educator. She has collaborated with companies and orchestras in Mexico and the US, such as the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de México, and Orquesta Sinfónica Carlos Chávez and Cincinnati Opera. Her repertoire includes key contralto and mezzo-soprano roles like Zia Principessa in Suor Angelica and Sesto in La Clemenza di Tito. Concert highlights include Brahms’s Alto Rhapsody, Bach’s St. John Passion, and nearly all Mahler solos. A fierce advocate of Latin American art song, she has earned several accolades including an award at the Carlo Morelli National Singing Competition, Mexico’s prestigious FONCA scholarship, and full merit scholarships for her master's and doctoral studies at the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music. Dr. Iglesias has been an Assistant Professor of Voice at Binghamton University SUNY since 2022.
