Ohio University seeks Assistant Professor, Director of Choral Activities.
Responsibilities include the administration of a large university choral program, conducting two choral ensembles, including University Singers, teaching graduate and undergraduate conducting, active recruitment of voice students as music majors, supervision of graduate teaching assistants, service to the institution, professional visibility, and other duties as assigned by the Director of the School of Music. Depending on the experience of the candidate and needs of the school, choral music education classes may also be included.
Minimum Qualifications
* Doctoral degree in hand at time of appointment, equivalent experience will be considered.
* Evidence of outstanding musical artistry and effective teaching at the university level.
* Evidence of the ability to recruit, administer, and maintain a large university choral program.
* A record of success teaching choral music in public schools.
