The School of Music at the University of Nevada, Reno, seeks a dedicated artist-teacher for the position of Assistant Professor of Conducting/Director of Choral Activities. Primary teaching responsibilities include administering all choral activities, conducting the Chamber Choir and leading the graduate choral conducting program. Additional teaching duties may include courses in undergraduate Choral Conducting, Choral Literature, or Choral Methods, conducting the Symphonic Choir (community choir), supervising student interns, or other assignments based on expertise and as assigned by the School Director.
The successful candidate is expected to pursue creative activity or research aligned with a Research-1 university, and to foster a culture of shared excellence by supporting regional public schools, engaging in recruitment efforts, collaborating within the School of Music, and fulfilling service roles. They will also enhance regional and national visibility through guest conducting and active participation in professional organizations. The start date will be July 1, 2025.

* An accomplished and multifaceted background in teaching, conducting ensembles and teaching conducting
