Artist Development Grants support Vermont artists at all stages of their careers. Grants can fund activities that enhance mastery of an artist’s craft or skills or that increase the viability of an artist’s business. Funding may also support aspects of the creation of new work when the activity allows the grantee to accept a rare and important opportunity.
In response to artist feedback and research and trends in grantmaking, we’re excited to pilot a new method for selecting grantees for this grant program: random draw. Applications meeting the eligibility criteria will be selected for funding using a random draw method. To ensure geographic diversity, grants will be drawn and awarded by Creative Zones in proportion to the zone’s application demand.
Also new this year, Flood Relief Funding. If recent flooding has significantly and adversely affected your ability to produce, perform, and/or market your work and created a need for immediate relief funds and/or assistance, please see below for eligible expenses.
See our New Changes to Grant Guidelines for more information about the Random Draw and Flood Relief Funding.
See website for a complete application requirements.
Application deadlines are September 10, 2024, and January 28, 2025, by 1:00 pm.
The proposed activities must begin after September 1, 2024, and end no later than August 31, 2025.
Award notifications are typically made within three weeks of each application deadline.
